The iPhone 5 Will Be A Significant Release

The iPhone 5 will be one of the most significant releases of this year and will end much anticipation as to what technical features or specifications the handset will offer. However, in the time leading up to its release it is still possible to ascertain from the widespread rumours and the features of the iPhone 4S as to what this handset may bring.

The handset is most likely to look similar to its nearest predecessor although one rumour has suggested that the Retina display may be increased in size from 3.5 inches up to 4 respectively. This would be more advantageous especially as more people move to the iPhone for its Game Center providing gaming along with those who love to watch movies and TV shows on their smartphone. Gaming is already taking off for the phone series as the Center enables you to find friends and make new ones in order to play form a wide range of games. This social gaming is likely to get better still for this handset especially as it is about to come to the Mac desktop environment also. For example you can play games such as Chess with a friend on your phone or invite someone you do not know to play against you, the leader board then displays each of your results.

The iPhone 5 will also possibly bring the launch of the next iOS operating platform which the handsets, as well as iPad and iPod Touch, are all running. This would be iOS 6 and as we have seen particularly with new releases in this phone series, a totally new number tends to mean a totally new iOS number as well. This would all coincide nicely with a new processor as well, and with other manufacturers now releasing quad core powered phones are Apple going to only move to dual core or go the whole way? This is the same question for the main camera, which we would assume to be at least 12 megapixels and accompanied by a dual LED flash. What is for sure is that full High Definition video will be possible.

Having looked at some of the possible features of the iPhone 5 it is clear that it will be the next best thing for any phone user to have. Less certain is what exactly the next best thing is going to consist of, but if any of these rumours are true, it will be something great.

When to Use a Mobile Phone Spyware

Human beings are naturally sociable species and express this characteristic through various means of interaction with one another. One way of social expression that can be considered unique to man is communication. In fact, interconnection through communication with one another can be considered as one of the major foundations of human society. A proof humanity's attachment with communication as a process of socialization and interaction is the development of technologies that assist and enhance the transmission and delivery of messages. The past few years, for instance, have seen the birth of modern developments in communication technologies, most notably in the field of mobile telephony.

These recent advances in the field of communications technology points to one facet of the human communication process, that is, creativity. And since it is a creative activity, freedom is among the factors that are needed to make it an effective means of socialization. That is to say, humanity in general and social groups in particular should not feel restricted in order to express themselves effectively in the mutual process of communication. Freedom as a requirement for communication is universally acknowledged across all types of human societies. This can explain the ever increasing speeds of development in the field of communication gadgetries.

The astronomical growth of the mobile phone industry can be attributed both to the fact that people constantly needs to connect with one another through updated communications as much as they are attached to novel technological developments. Any innovation in communication devices introduced in the market, therefore, is sure to get the support of the consuming public. It comes as no surprise then that the very first mobile phone to be released made a hit in the market despite the fact that it offered limited functionality which is that of being able to make a call whenever and wherever its user may be. The only difference it had with the traditional landline telephony is that its user can bring it anywhere.

As it is part of human nature to create and innovate, mobile phone companies have perceived consumer's needs for a better device and come up with a better version of the first mobile phones, incorporating text messaging capability in addition to the traditional voice call feature. Later developments have also added a pack of entertainment features, such as multimedia functionalities like cameras and music players. As internet has developed in a very rapid pace and affected every aspect of peoples lives, ranging from personal to professional matters, the demand for devices that can help cope up with these developments has also grown. This has brought about the era of Smart Phones, which are mobile phones that are enabled to browse the internet, apart from making voice calls and text messages.

Unfortunately, however, there are people who are up to using these technological advances in communication in an unscrupulous manner. It is a fact that in any organization, or society for that matter, there are individuals who go against what is acceptable to the organization in particular and the society in general. In the field of business, for example, you might be employing a person who is not as loyal to your company as you may think. They may be spying on you for your competitors and transmitting critical information that could be a matter of life and death for your business.

How can you be so sure that your employees' loyalty and integrity to your company are in check? Put another way, how can you check on your employees' loyalty without appearing to be authoritarian, or at the least, endangering your working relationship with your employees, who may, after all, be loyal to your company? Some have solved this dilemma by resorting to the prudent use of spying software. These software can be downloaded right into the phone targeted for spying and off it goes running in the background recording and transmitting data which you can then view from a secure server. The advantage with this is that you are getting the information you need without the target phone's user knowing that he or she is being tracked. While this activity may indeed confirm the loyalty of your employees, it can also avert any painful losses to your company if it proves that your suspicions are true, thereby enabling you to act on the matter immediately and thus saving your business from a real headache.

Reasons That I Support Texting Over Voice Conversations

Several opinions have indicated a preference of text messaging over the act of conversing with an individual over the phone. One of the reasons is sending a message is a far more cost effective measure, especially if loved ones live overseas. Seeing a typed message from them in return offers a visual reminder of their presence as well as offers some respite from missing them.

Others state that communicating through textual messages enables them to think of their response. If something is said that should not be, that message can be edited before being sent. In certain situations, this would be preferable as this limits the time spent in conversing about a less than pleasant issue.

An intended message can be delivered through this system of communication, even in places with poorer mobile phone reception. There are times that a phone conversation can be hampered with external circumstances. This is due in part to the noise of daily activities, such as trucks lumbering by.

Another perspective on the benefits of communicating in this fashion allows the person to demonstrate a more creative aspect of themselves to the recipient. The individual can liven up a textual conversation with humor, add an emotion icon to reflect the intended feeling and even an intellectual capacity as well as, in romantic situations display characteristic attributes to reflect the feasibility of long term companionship. The way a person types a text reveals a side to them that is often experienced by those liaising with them, either romantically or otherwise.

Textual conversations between romantic partners can spice things up with suggestions for the meeting. Communication between employers and employees can be more effectively done through the message system. This is due the fact that while most companies employ the concept of communicating through the electronic mail system, unless the employee is able to check their electronic mails in time, important messages can be missed, but the information delivered in a textual format is received almost instantaneously.

Other opinions indicate the preference for this type of communication due to the ability to have the communicated messages stored. These stored items can then be retrieved to suit future intentions. In certain cases deleting messages that will reveal, almost erases any indiscretion. In the end, other reasons behind why sending text messages is better than talking on the phone are indicative of the circumstances supporting the preference of communicating in this manner.

Consider This Before You Commit To A Cell Phone Plan

There are a variety of cell phone companies all fighting for your business. Many of these companies are constantly selling and promoting their products and services so you think of them when you need a new cell phone or plan. But don't just follow the advertising. Whether you are looking for the cheapest cell phone plans or those with the most coverage there are some things you should consider as you are shopping for your new phone or cell phone plan.

Don't Fall For The Advertising

For starters don't fall for the advertising gimmicks. While there can be some beneficial information provided in the ads, they are obviously created to sell you on their business. Because this is a pretty competitive market companies will fight pretty hard for your business. Read the fine print on those enticing claims before you commit to anything. Also keep in mind that some advertising claims may sound tempting but they may not have much relevance to your life or needs; don't be swayed by features that you may not end up using much in lieu of more important features.

Check The Coverage Area

Whether you are looking for cheap cell phones without plans or a full plan with data service, ensure the plan you choose will provide the service you need in the areas you need it. If you travel a lot ensure you will have coverage in the areas where you most commonly travel. You don't want to be stuck in an area you frequent only to find out you don't have service there.

Know What You're Getting Into

If you choose a contract plan ensure you understand the contract terms. Signing a two-year contract means you will be stuck with the same phone and the same plan for two years, unless you're willing to pay the high cancellation fee to get out of the contract. This may be fine as long as you understand the terms when you sign. But before you sign a contract make sure the plan really fits your needs. Don't sign a contract impulsively to get that shiny new cell phone you've been admiring. If the plan doesn't fit your needs it may just become a big frustrating expense.

When choosing a new cell phone plan do your research. Read the fine print; understand your payments and what may trigger additional charges. If you are choosing a plan with data make sure you understand the data limits, as well as how many minutes and texts are allowed per month without additional charges. Those overage charges can add up quickly.

One of the best ways to find the best plan for your needs is to make a quick chart listing what you want or need from your cell phone plan. Determine which providers fit those needs, and then compare them against each other. For help comparing cell phone plans from a variety of providers visit: http://Cheapest-CellPhone-Plan.com/

Verizon: You can have unlimited data, but only if you pay for your cell phone in full

At an investor conference earlier this week, Verizon CFO Fran Shammo revealed Verizon's plans to kill unlimited data plans--even for customers supposedly grandfathered into unlimited data. Instead, the company would be moving everyone onto a shared data plan, so instead of needing a separate data plan for every device you carry around or for each member of your household, you can have one plan to rule them all. While shared data sounds great if you're a multi-device user, the move to backtrack on grandfathered plans still sucks. Facing the uproar from unhappy customers, Verizon now says you can keep your unlimited data--for a price.

The price is your next cell phone's subsidy. For now, you can keep your cell phone's unlimited data plan, but when you upgrade your phone, you'll have to pay full retail price in order to keep the plan. If you want a discounted price on the phone, unlimited data will no longer be available.

The difference between a subsidized phone and one at full retail price is hundreds of dollars. The iPhone 4S, for example, is $200 with your wireless plan and contract but $650 out of contract. Ouch!

Is it worth it? Over a 2-year contract, the difference is $18.75 per month in this iPhone example--assuming you go for a new phone in 2 years.

Even though only 1 percent of us use more than 5GB per month and 5.4 percent between 2GB and 5GB (according to AT&T data on Consumer Reports), that's still a great number of people who now have to pay more on Verizon for unlimited data. Unlimited data means you can stream videos, transfer huge files, and upload pictures to your heart's content.

Besides switching to Sprint, the only wireless carrier now with truly unlimited data, you could hold onto your cell phone for longer than 2 years to lower the extra cost of unlimited data on Verizon or buy your next new phone from eBay or elsewhere.

Mobile Phone Radiation and Sugars - The Surprising Connections

There is a growing concern about the dangers of radio frequencies (RF) bombarding our bodies, especially our brains. An acquaintance did not want to hear about the dangers of electron radiation. Desiring to remain ignorant, he sarcastically told me, "ignorance is bliss". I responded, "You must be one happy dude." The fact is that ignorance of RF may be very harmful.

One postulation is that cell phone electron radiation may cause slowed reflex time compounding the number of traffic fatalities. We know that attention distraction is a given but adding slower reflexes to the equation may increase the number of roadway injuries and deaths.

The Endowment for Medical Research in Houston will be conducting a series of studies to determine if certain sugars help form a protective barrier around human cells somewhat like a faraday cage. The idea that any sugar could possibly protect cells was recently discovered by researchers at the Universite de Lausanne in Switzerland. They were surprised to learn that cells were protected from electron beam microscopy damage when those cells were coated with the sugar trehalose.

In February 2011 a new study published in the Journal of the American Medical Association (JAMA) shows that extended use of a cellular telephone causes increased glucose sugar activity in parts of the brain next to the phone's antenna. Dr. Nora Volkow, director of the National Institute on Drug Abuse at the NIH and author of the cell phone paper, said there was significant increase in brain glucose metabolism in the area of the brain near the antenna. Glucose metabolism increase indicates conclusively that the human brain is sensitive to the electromagnetic radiation emitted from cell phones. Dr. Volkow confessed that we do not yet understand what is the mechanism that leads to this increase in glucose consumption. On a radio program she recently stated that they interpreted [the study] to mean that the brain is activated because that is what happens when [brain] cells are activated: They increase the consumption of glucose.

Past studies have generated a lot of controversy and there needs to be more independent studies. Another study published in February 2011 in the journal Bioelectromagnetics reported no statistically significant change in the incidence of brain cancers in men and women in England between 1998 and 2007, a time when cell phone use increased dramatically. Dr. Volkow asks the question that perhaps there are there long-lasting consequences from exposure to these weak signals of electromagnetic radiation. He would like to be able to answer that question in a way that is comprehensive and provides information that is useful.

A study with surprising results was led by University of South Florida researchers at the Florida Alzheimer's Disease Research Center (ADRC) and was published January 6, 2010 in the Journal of Alzheimer's Disease. This study conducted in mice provides the first evidence that long-term exposure to electromagnetic waves associated with cell phone use may actually protect against, and even reverse, Alzheimer's disease. It appears that the electron radiation actually prevented the protein plaque build-up on the neurons.

The Houston experimentation with cell phone RF will be conducted in the lab rather than in the human brain and may be instrumental in determining the parameters for future research with sugars and the human brain. We will report on these findings.

JC Spencer has invested two decades in the research and study of glycomics, the science of sugars. He is CEO of The Endowment for Medical Research, Inc http://endowmentmed.org/.

Can't Hardly Wait: Three Things You Can Expect From Smart Devices in 2012

Dessert comes after the meal and trophies given after a victory. That is unless you manufacture smart devices-in which case dessert is usually the main course. During the first few months every year, hundreds of technology companies come together at two of the most important conferences in the industry. These get-togethers influence whether you see or don't see certain smartphones, tablets, computers, apps and accessories in the following months. Fortunately for you, this article is going to let you have your cake and eat it, too, by discussing hot topics from the recent Consumer Electronics Show, the Mobile World Congress conference and beyond.

As you read this, companies around the world are working on the next great mobile technology. Like a kid on Christmas Eve, they just can't wait to unveil those new toys to you. These mega conferences allow them their first opportunity to pique public interest and gauge marketability. So, what can you expect from the land of wireless wonder in 2012?

The Quad Core Invasion

Like ketchup slowly moving through a bottle, quad cores are eventually going to come out-And sooner rather than later. Most devices these days contain Dual/Duo core processors. They're fast and capable machines, but as people begin to do more multi-tasking with system-hogging applications, like using Skype while checking email and rocking out on Pandora, the technology begins to feel slow and dated.

Now imagine having another set of arms to help out. Quad-core chips have 4 processor cores in them, compared to the 2 in a Dual/Duo core. The theory is that if you have multiple cores, you can split up the work between them so they'll run more quickly and efficiently. Going from two to four cores will improve the overall experience when using the device, as well as improve graphics performance and help devices harness the power of 4G networks.

ADVICE: If you're like us and have phone ADD, a quad core device will keep you entertained. But don't get too excited. While quad core phones may appear within the next few months, the jury is still out on how this additional horsepower is going to impact battery life.

HD Comes To A Screen Near You

Larger screen sizes were one of the big smartphone trends in 2011. So after giving your eyes more real estate to explore, the next logical step is to improve that view-meaning higher resolution is a likely candidate. Higher-resolution screens will be a huge point of emphasis for upcoming mobile devices, but manufacturers are also working to provide better viewing angles, enhanced color quality and lower power consumption.

Some devices are already beginning to set their resolution to 1280-by-720 pixels, which is an incredible handheld experience and pushes your phone further toward content consumption supremacy. Soon, you won't be able to tell the difference between an HD movie played on your home theatre and one played on your palm entertainment center.

ADVICE: Last year the first 1280-by-720-pixel phone screens appeared, but we expect that resolution to become the new standard for high-end phones in 2012. If you watch a lot of video and frequently surf the web, make sure your next device has that resolution. Your eyes will thank us.

4G is Set Loose Nationwide

2011 was an experiment for 4G/LTE (Long Term Evolution), which offers dramatic speed increases over mainstream 3G networks. Today, all smartphones with LTE are based on Google's Android. But that will change over the next 12 months, driven by Verizon and AT&T. When it comes to the big three carriers, Verizon adopted the technology early in 2011, AT&T is just now hitting the gas and Sprint is beginning its rollout soon. So 4G in its several forms should become standard among high-end smartphones at some point in 2012.

ADVICE: As amazing as 4G LTE will be once it's the standard, it's not worth specifically upgrading for it at present. Check your carrier's coverage maps. If 4G LTE isn't in your area yet, don't bother getting a device with the feature unless the coverage is coming very soon and they have a set date. Otherwise you'll be paying extra for a service you can't use yet. As with most things mobile, current 4G configurations are murder on battery life but this is slowly changing.

OUTLOOK: The best time to buy a new device is usually in December, when prices come down, carriers are willing to make deals and many of the bugs have been worked out. But until then...Apple's iPhone 5 may debut this summer, possibly June...Samsung's Galaxy S3 series may be released between now and the summer...And Nokia's Lumia 900 may make a big splash, as it was named "Best Smartphone" at the Consumers Electronics Show.

Your Smartphone Has Been Stolen: Now What? 5 Essential Moves You Must Make

Within the last five years, smartphones have become extensions of us. And if your electronic sidekick is ever lost or stolen, you feel like a piece of yourself is missing. But worse yet, all kinds of personal information can be stolen if it falls into the wrong hands.

So, what do you do if your device meets this fate? (Besides freak out, cry and hope you deleted all those "personal" items.) Former senators and quarterbacks aside, these following critical pieces of advice will help if you ever come face to face with that fateful moment.

THE 5 ESSENTIAL MOVES

Notify your mobile provider of the situation.Change all your online passwords for any accounts that were linked to your device.Go online and activate your device's tracking software. (Read below for more.)Alert your friends, family and co-workers that your device has been stolen. If you bought insurance for your phone, find out what your plan covers.

PREPARE

Secure Your Data

The password feature is one of the simplest pro-active features to protect your information. All too often, smartphone owners use "screen lock" without activating a pin or pattern code to access the phone, which can leave their contacts, text messages, email and even social networking accounts open to anyone who obtains the phone.

Advice: Set a code that is harder than 1234 or 0000. Also, make the device's wallpaper a "contact sheet" that lists your name, an alternate phone number, email address and a mention of $$$ for returning it.

Backup Your Information

If your phone died right this second would you have copies of its pictures or would they be gone forever? The simplest way to backup your stuff is to plug your smartphone into a computer by USB cord. Then, drag and drop items from the device onto your desktop. Fortunately, more phones these days automatically backing up your contacts and information online, such as with Android devices that link to your Google account and Apple connecting to iTunes and iCloud. Some even allow you to instantly upload pictures as you take them.

Advice:Search online on how to use your device's backup storage option, such as the iCloud. If you want more assurance, purchase an application to save more data, including third party apps, data and custom settings. Search for "Backup."

Install Tracking Software

Many tracking applications allow you to locate your phone on a map if it's lost or stolen. Some even let you display a message, remotely lock your device and play a loud alarm sound, even if it's set to silent.

Advice:Visit your carrier's local store and ask about their device tracking/recovery options. Also, search for "phone locator" in your smartphone's application store.

A few suggestions:

MyLookout.com-- Freemium service for smart phones that run Android, Blackberry or Windows.

PreyProject.com-- Freemium service for Macs, PCs and smartphones.

Find My iPhone-- Free service for the iPhone 4, the iPad or a fourth generation iPod touch.

Where's My Droid-- Free service for Android smart phone users.

Plan B-- Free service for Android smart phone users. This is the only that can be remotely installed on your phone afteryou've lost it.

StuffBak.com- An innovative loss protection and recovery service that has a proven 75% recovery rate.

REACT

Report The Theft Immediately

Let your carrier know the phone was stolen as soon as possible so the device can be disabled. You don't want the thief making long distance calls to vote on So You Think You Can Dance, Nigeria.

Advice: Put the kibosh on as quickly as possible..the thief could be texting your mama saying you hate her cooking. Also, write down your carrier's customer service number and keep it in your wall or purse for quick access.

Rethink Your Passwords

Change all the online passwords to your bank, email services, social networks and any other accounts linked to your device. Often, these passwords are stored on your smartphone for quick access at the touch of a button, making easy pickins' for thieves.

Advice: Regardless, it's good to continually change your passwords every few months to optimize your protection. If it's difficult to remember all the new passwords, keep a handwritten note tucked away.

Remotely Wipe Your Data

If all hope is lost and you don't want a peeping Tom checking out your goodies, this is a must. Many tracking services like the ones mentioned offer the ability to remotely erase personal information off the device.

Advice: Unless you have a complete backup of your data, be absolutely positive your phone is stolen or will never be found again before wiping it. We'd hate for you to give your device a lobotomy and then learn you left it in the car.

Losing your smartphone can be a traumatic experience, but you can lessen the blow by following these essential moves. For more guidance, contact me at service@myphonemd.net.

Free Wi-Fi Internet Access on the Go for Cable Customers

Want to save your mobile data minutes and stay connected on the go for free? If you're a Bright House, Cablevision (Optimum Online), Comcast (Xfinity), Cox, or Time Warner Cable customer, you'll be able to get free wireless Internet access in select cities, thanks to these cable companies' agreement today to offer free access to 50,000 Wi-Fi hotspots for customers.

Although there are tons of free Wi-Fi hotspots open to all already, including Starbucks and Barnes & Noble locations, the new CableWiFi Internet access makes it even easier to get connected. The free Wi-Fi via CableWiFi will be offered at hotels, coffee shops, restaurants, and bars in major US cities.

Cities covered by CableWiFi include Philadelphia, Los Angeles, New York City (and the surrounding Tri-state area), Orlando, and Tampa.

Cablevision and Time Warner Cable already offer free unlimited Wi-Fi access to their customers (at least in NYC) under their own Wi-Fi hotspot names. The expanded CableWiFi service is available now in New York City for Cablevision customers and in Florida for Bright House and Cablevision.

With wireless providers killing unlimited data plans and free tethering?also disappearing, free Internet access when you're not at home is pretty valuable.

Just make sure when you connect to the free CableWiFi network or any free Wi-Fi hotspot that you take measures to stay safe on the public Wi-Fi hotspot, because of the increased security risks.

Mobile Phones - How To Get Good Deals

One of the most common gadgets that you will get with people in the world today is the mobile phone. In the years past, certain classes of people were the ones who could own mobile phones. However, that has changed dramatically. This is mainly because of the enhancement of communication. People living in the so-called 'third world' countries also have the luxury of enjoying these gadgets. More people own cell phones compared to laptops or PCs.

One of the ways that phone manufacturers are promoting their mobile phones is by collaborating with telecommunication service providers and offering certain discounts when a certain type of phone is purchased. Some of the major phone manufacturing companies include LG, Motorola, Sony Ericsson, Nokia and Samsung. You will find that these companies will collaborate with certain telecommunication companies in certain countries so that they can promote the use of their products. This means that one of the ways you can get a good deal on a mobile phone is by being on the lookout for special offer and promotions offered by telecommunication companies in your country. Let us use the example of UK telecommunication company Vodafone. You may find that a Nokia 2610 costs 60 pounds when you purchase it from a reseller. On the other hand, if Vodafone collaborates with the Nokia Company to resell this phone, they may sell it at around 57 pounds. You will have saved 3 pounds.

Another way to get a good deal on mobile phones is by doing comparison of prices. There are two ways this can be done. One way is by using the internet. As you may be aware, the internet has many websites where companies sell mobile phones. Most of the time, the prices of the phones are usually put next to the image of the phone. In this way, you can easily do you comparison and choose the best deal. The other way is when you physically visit cell phone shops and stores in your area. This may require you to set aside time to go for window shopping.

One of the important things you have to do is to weigh which option best works for you. Each option has its own merits and demerits. You will have to seriously think through which option will work for you.

Generally, cell phones are getting cheaper by the day. Getting a good mobile phone deal is quite easy.

You can get mobile phone deals for different types of phones including Sony Xperia U deals. You will also get to know more about Sony Xperia U contract deals.

The Benefits of Using the Nokia Lumia at School

Nowadays, cell phones are not luxury items anymore but an ubiquitous accessory of high school students since the late 1990s. Owing to the various benefits and advantages the mobile phones offer, they became a very important part of society. There was a period in the education history when mobile phones were banned by certain schools as an unnecessary distraction. Some tragic events like: 11 September 2001, as well as other emergency situations, such as: shootings in the school or a student's medical problem, have proved that reaching the parents or the hospital in due time by using the cell phones, is the quickest and most effective solution.

Nowadays parents want to protect their offspring from being called by strangers. How can we provide freedom to our teenagers while protecting them from technologically related harm? Fortunately, the market has responded with some special programmes. Nokia Lumia 900 is an example of smart phone fitted with GPS (Global Positioning System) chip. In this way parents can keep an eye on where their children are at any time.

Cell phones can be used as teaching tools, having academic uses. Nokia Lumia 710 has a built-in calculator meant to perform complex, lengthy calculations, which can be done during the math classes, as well as during social studies to determine the percentage of electoral votes or other imaginary situations. The digital cameras from Nokia Lumia 900 or Nokia Lumia 710, can be used by students to document information for multimedia presentations or reports related to different school subjects. Many phones have wireless internet access which helps them contribute with new information and images from Stonehenge, for example, during classes which become very interesting this way. Students who study literature, foreign languages, can benefit from quickly looking up new word or expression definitions in dictionaries for all languages. Older students can conduct phone interviews during class time with teacher supervision.

During the geography lessons students can search on Google, maps from different countries, continents, information about different forms of relief. Mini fieldwork activities can be performed around the school site using the smart phones such as Nokia Lumia 900 with older pupils. This way they can be asked to: measure the slope angle of the field using a certain application and ranging poles, to take a photo and geo locate it and load it on Google Earth, back in the classroom, make a 360 degree photograph. Students could also use the phone to record sounds and make a sound map. Students could also geo-locate Dictaphone recordings of descriptions of views using "memo" app; record data for microclimate using the "wind speed" application. All these activities will be very useful for pupils and turn dull classes into very interesting ones.

No matter how skeptical teachers can be about the use of smartphones such as Nokia Lumia 900, it is obvious that these devises can be anything you want them to be and they can definitely be used in a variety of field work.

This article has been written by an EFL teacher who wants to prove that mobile phones, especially Nokia Lumia 900, can be of great use both to teachers and students. Considering the fact that cell phones exercise a real fascination towards school students, instead of banning them from class as most headteachers intend to, all educators should use them as methods, strategies of creating pleasant, interesting classes.

Different Ways of Using An Old Smartphone

With technology advancing at a great speed with each passing second we see new trendy looking smart phones crowding the market with the latest technology and new features. Phone users always get attracted to new phones as soon as they get launched in the market. Smartphone users many a times instantly decide that they would buy the newly launched phone and get rid of the old phone. In that case the old Smartphone which they would have been using for a period of time is sold or discarded in a pitiful manner.

They almost forget the point that those old smartphones too were at one point of time in the hit list of featured smartphones. Also we see that those old phones are barely a few years old and are in the best working condition. The iPhone 4 and Samsung Galaxy S which were initially launched in the market were termed as phones having the fastest processors and sharpest features with good memory space. But, now with more advanced smartphones, these old phones have no value in the current market.

Most of the people discard their old phone and start using their new phone. It's quite sad that they hardly give a thought over discarding it. Those people who think their old phone is totally useless after buying a new featured phone must read this article because they need to know that all old gadgets too can prove to be very beneficial though they are technologically backward. A few ways of using old smartphones are as follows:

Use it for GPS and Map Services
Using your old phone as a GPS system is indeed a great idea in itself. If you have a car charger then you can use it as a great GPS system because Smartphones require battery. Also data connection is needed in order to do the mapping service. For that you need to have a navigation application that will do pre-loading of maps. People owning Android phones can make use of the recent version of Google maps. You would be thinking of using your new phone for doing the same service but then you cannot attend calls if you want your new phone to perform the GPS service. Also you need to keep your new phone on charge In order to use the GPS service. So it is better to make your old phone do it rather than the new one.

Keep it for making emergency calls
When your new phone's battery gets exhausted you can always use your old phone for making calls. In short during an emergency situation your old phone can act handy for you. If suppose your old phone does not have a SIM card and you are busy taking an official call then you could still dial emergency calls because The Federal Communications Commission sees to it that all cell phone carriers transmit all 9-1-1 calls to a PASP (Public Safety Answering Point) even when the caller is not subscribed to the service provider. Caller can easily make emergency calls if he has his phone battery full and good signal. The FCC is further planning to allow emergency texts and videos calls soon for the benefit of phone users.

Use it as a portable media player
Smartphones apart from being used for making calls, messages, or official use can also be used as a great media player. People who keep on traveling from place to place require some entertainment to keep them occupied. In that case your old Smartphone can be used for listening songs, watching movies and many more. Though your old phone might not have a data connection everywhere but users can access app stores MP3'S, YouTube, and even do web browsing. What more can you wish for when you have everything available on your old Smartphone. In this case you can watch a movie in your old phone and simultaneously attend an important call on your new phone. Also there are apps available which lets users stream shows and movies. For songs people can purchase it from stores or use an application for the same.

Use it as a portable gaming device
If you think you need to carry your PSP for playing your favorite games then you can change your mind and carry your old Smartphone instead. Your old Smartphone can help you play your favorite game swiftly as it has a wide-touchscreen. You can choose your favorite game from the many app stores. Again if you are thinking of using your new Smartphone for playing then you would be interrupted in between by calls and messages. In order to enjoy uninterrupted playing sessions make use of your old Smartphone.

Use your phone as an e-reader
If you are an ardent reader and looking out for kindle and Nook to read you need not waste your time and money in finding and buying one with your old Smartphone in hand. Your Smartphone can very well prove to be a great e-reading application if it has a large display screen. Also there are many e-reading applications available for smart phones. So all you need to do is charge the battery of your old Smartphone and use it as a good pocket sized e-reading device.

GPS Enabled Cell Phones And Tracking

As companies wanting to track their vehicles/employees begin their search for information about GPS vehicle-tracking devices, many come upon what appears to be an easy, affordable solution. To the buyer who is not familiar with how GPS systems work, cell phone GPS tracking appears to offer the cheapest way to start tracking your employees and your fleet.

To the buyer who is uneducated with GPS equipment, GPS phones seem to be an easy way to begin reaping the benefits of GPS tracking, but as the old saying goes, "You get what you pay for." Following are the main problems with GPS phones:

Driver tamperingDramatically reduced battery life requires phone to be constantly re-chargedIncomplete ReportingNextel coverage and cost

Over the years we have heard several complaints from companies who have tried using GPS phones to track their vehicles/employees. Some of our customers tried using GPS cell phones, but after a few weeks they began to realize the downsides of the phone tracking solution vs. the hard-wired GPS tracking that Global Tracking offers.

If you are considering trying a GPS phone, take a moment to make some comparisons.

1. Tampering

The first and most obvious problem with the GPS phones is that the drivers can simply turn off either the java applet running the GPS software on the phone or the phone all together.

There are message boards throughout the Internet where crafty employees are spreading the knowledge on how to disable the GPS phone without being detected. Going into basements or using a metal wrap around the phone, or placing it in a tool box will make it appear as if the phone has merely "lost signal".

With a GPS phone, you rely too much on the person who is responsible for carrying the phone.

The best way to ensure proper reporting is to take these factors out of the driver's hands. By using a hard-wired vehicle tracking system that is installed discreetly in the vehicle, driver interaction is taken out of the picture. The units are always on and always able to tell where a vehicle is in real time over the web.

2. Battery Life

When the GPS tracking is added to the phone, the battery life of the phone decreases by about 50-75%. What this means is that the GPS phone will not last an entire work day without requiring at least one re-charge. This is simply another excuse the person carrying the phone can use if he/she does not want to be tracked.

3. Incomplete Reporting

The difference in reporting is another area where the phone falls short. Although the GPS cell phones can usually report on 3-15 minute intervals like their dedicated counterparts, the fact that a GPS signal can be lost so easily, dramatically affects the Start-Stop reports it can produce. Business owners are relying on accurate reports so they can feel confident when comparing their employee time sheets against the GPS software report.

Using a system that is only accurate 50% of time only leads to doubt on the employers end. When a technician insists he was at a location, but the report isn't there to back it up, the fleet manager doesn't know if he/she should trust the employee or the GPS data.

Hard-wired GPS systems take this issue out of the equation. Because they are "always on" and have the best ability to maintain a GPS lock with the satellites, the reports a manager has to look at are always 99% accurate.

4. Coverage and Cost

GPS phones require a minimum monthly Nextel voice plan of $39.00, plus a minimum monthly data plan of $9.99. When you add the monthly tracking services, you are easily into the $60.00+ range on monthly services, and that is minimal use of the voice on the phone. Finally, Nextel has the weakest coverage of any wireless carrier.

In conclusion, companies who use a GPS phone for tracking vehicles/employees invariably run in to the same critical performance problems that can only be overcome by installing a real-time GPS system.

We hope to help educate the buyer in order to help you avoid the hassle of purchasing something that will be a waste of time and money. If you are interested in learning more about our GPS tracking systems please feel free to contact us using our web form or give us a call. We currently sell several proven GPS systems for companies with one truck or thousands in their fleet, and we to help you select the system that is right for your company.

How to Forge a New Look on Your Cell Phone

Most of the time we get bored with the same cell phone handset that we have owned for years. Technology is ever-changing and newer cell phones are coming out in the market with each passing day. These new cell phone handsets are undeniably attractive but also often cost the earth. We often think of not to buy a new handset and prefer keeping the old one.

Well, the fact is, you don't need to purchase a completely new mobile phone handset if you are tired of its looks. Painting the body of a mobile phone is one of the most affordable and economical ways for updating the looks of your handset. You do not to be some expert painter. You simply need some directions with regard to how to paint your mobile phone so that it looks new. Most spray paints available in the market work fine with plastic. They are designed both for outdoor and indoor use. A large section of the spray paints comprise an enamel finish for protecting the finish and the paint from daily wear and tear.

Here's how you can spray paint your cell phone to forge a new look.

First, visit a store that deals in high quality spray paints. Ahead of selecting a color, find the paint that's formulated for plastic and manufactured both for outdoor and indoor purposes. Choose the color in a satin or flat finish. Don't buy a glossy finish for your mobile phone handset as it may show the pre-existing blemishes on your cell phone cover.

Second, remove the cover of your phone and switch it off. Now, remove the battery for avoiding electric shocks. Unscrew the screws. If the handset has no screws, use any flat-head tool to pry open the body along the seams and the sides. Keep away the interior parts of the mobile phone away from children's reach.

Third, use a painter's tape for covering any chromatic areas of the cell phone that aren't to be painted. Remember to use only a painter's rape because it won't leave any sticky residue on the phone's surface when removed. Remain alert that you don't cover any area that you want to paint. This is to make the paint job even. Besides, the job can be completed in one application.

Fourth, select a location that's well ventilated and not much windy like a garage where you can keep the door half open. Lay down an old newspaper ahead of spray painting the mobile phone body for protecting the floor.

Finally, place the back and the cover of the phone directly one beside the other on the newspaper. Spray the paint about eight inches away from the covers in a steady and slow motion across the back and the front of the cell phone cover. If you see any spotting or an uneven application, continue spraying your paint until you attain a smooth application all over.

Always wear a pair of gloves before starting the painting of your mobile phone cover. Make sure you adopt other appropriate safety measures.

Where to Discuss the Best iPhone Apps and Best Android Apps

Find a place to discuss apps

Getting information on where to get new applications for your smartphone without someone trying to sell you a product can be tricky business unless you know the places to look. A lot of the more popular ones come about from word of mouth and recommendation from friends and colleagues. However it wouldn't it be nice to get a place to hang out and discuss the newest and most popular apps on the market.

There is plenty of content online and marketing campaigns to lure people in to buy apps, but a much safer bet is to do some research on the product you are looking for first of all. Such a place to do this would be a web forum or blog in order to get information and advice.

Why discuss apps?

Applications for smart phone products cost money and do not offer a refund from when it is purchased. Therefore it is important that the correct item is bought initially. This is particularly relevant when it comes to Apple and iTunes products as uninstalling the item or removing it from your iTunes account can prove nearly impossible. Once bought, it remains.

Another reason to discuss before purchase is that some items do not come cheap and can cost a tidy sum only for the customer to find out that it does not do the required function or does not quite meet the standards that they were expecting. Because of this, it is important to discuss the purchase of these types of products before hand, or at least try and get some advice on them before handing over the virtual cash.

This is where online communities and forums come in to their element.

Forums for information

With a web forum it is likely that pin pointing the requirements you need in a smartphone application can be filtered through to the particular device you have. Therefore this means if your device is an iPhone, you can ask other Apple users their thoughts on the product and what they would recommend as an alternative. Again, there is probably a place that Android users can turn to also to get their sources on the best free apps for example.

Friendly forum communities such as App Talk allow like minded individuals to gain the knowledge about applications before proceeding with a purchase and help others with help and advice along the way.

Emerging Mobile Technologies

Mobile devices of today are much different from the ones used two decades ago. The requirements of individuals back then were much lesser than the individuals of this century. Today, is the era of electronic devices which operate by making use of codes, micro-chips etc. They present a creative aspect, induced through device communication, data management etc.

Mobile technology is improving exponentially because of the basic premise that mobile phones are the only devices we feel comfortable in carrying anywhere we go being communicated with one another all the time.

Some emerging mobile technologies are:
Wi-Fi: Wireless Fidelity, which has been around in mobile device for a few years now, is one of the most in-demand technologies in smart-phones. Initially, the operator carriers were the only option to access web from mobile devices. This was both slow and costly for the user. After the introduction of Wi-Fi in mobile devices, users could easily connect to home or office networks and access fast, uninterrupted internet. It virtually wipes out the cost to access the network and is much faster then using operator's carrier signals.
NFC: Near Field Communication Technology, allows similar devices to communicate if they are in each other's vicinity. This technology allows faster data transfer between these devices. It is used in commerce services like Google Wallet which is used for online transactions. It can be supposed as a supplement in mobile payments.
QR codes: Quick response codes are two-dimensional matrices of pattern which resemble a crossword puzzle. These patterns have information embedded in them that can be decoded using a QR Decoder which is present in mostly all Smart-phones available in the market. All the information simply floats on the browser screen of the device just by scanning the code.
Bluetooth 3.0: This technology is introduced to increase the data transfer speed between mobile devices or any other device having Bluetooth facility. Over conventional v2.0, which sends data up to the speed of 3 Mbps, Bluetooth 3.0 is able to transfer data up to 480 Mbps in close proximity and at 100 Mbps within the range of 8-10 meters. As it is backward compatible, so the devices with lower version of Bluetooth will be able to communicate with the devices with updated version i.e. 3.0.
Haptic technology: It gives a sense of actual touch to users using touch screen devices by either vibrations or motions in the device. People seem to have a perception of better typing capability using the actual buttons. So to provide the sense of buttons on a touch sensitive device gives user the natural feel of typing virtually. iOS applications and devices are a great example of the same.
Location identification: New devices introduced in market include a GPS, which enables them to locate the device and allows the user to find the directions, other locations, distance etc using various applications.

Data management through mobile has been introduced by various brands like Apple, Windows, and Google with their remote data management services or cloud based services. Mobile broadband has granted the users with blazing flash speed for data transfer using internet. 3.5G and 4G/LTE has been recently introduced in the queue of such technology allowing the user to access the web, stream videos, etc. using their mobile device.

Is It Safe Sending Mobile Phones to Recycling Websites?

Ever-increasing numbers of people are coming to realise the benefits of recycling their old mobile phones. There is a greater awareness that simply dumping phones with the daily household rubbish has long-term consequences for the environment as they contain harmful rare earth metals like cadmium and non-degradable plastics. And many people have come to realise that putting their old phones away in case of some future emergency means that they will probably end up forgotten. Also, cash incentives from mobile phone recycling companies are encouraging more people to recycle.

The mobile phone recycling industry is growing as astute businessmen realise the profits to be made from phone recycling. The vast majority are perfectly legitimate and you should feel safe using their services. A very few, however, are rogues and give the industry a bad name so many people ask, "Is it safe for me to use an online website to sell my mobile phone?"

Do your homework

For the most part, the answer is, "Yes'". But you need to be aware that there are unscrupulous dealers and there are some pitfalls. There have been some fly-by-nighters who set up a business, convince you to sell your phone to them and then fail to pay. By the time you start to panic and track them down, the company has disappeared with your phone and the phones of everyone else who has been unfortunate enough to trust them. Others will offer a good price for your phone and, when they receive it, renege on the agreed price claiming that the phone's condition is not as described. A further trick is to claim that your phone has got "lost in the post". If you are careful, however, you should not fall prey to these shysters.

As is the case when dealing with any online company, it is vital that you do your homework. First of all, you should try to find out what various companies are offering for your make and model of mobile phone. This can be done by going to comparison websites and will give you an immediate clue if the company you eventually select is trying to get one over on you; a ridiculously high or low offer should start the alarm bells ringing. The other usual tests apply - like does the company have a physical office and is it properly registered?

Choose carefully and you'll have no problems

When you see companies apparently offering a sensible price that you find acceptable, you need to find out what other people have to say about them. Look through the reviews and compare their performance. These days, dissatisfied customers are not slow to voice their concerns and post their complaints on the Internet so you will soon find out which companies have a doubtful reputation.

Careful checking should give you a clear indication of which company is the most reliable and is the best one for you. Knowing that you have done your homework and that others have found your chosen mobile phone recycling company to be reliable, you should be able to send you phone off fairly certain that it is as safe as it can be.

There are, of course, no guarantees but you can rest assured that the majority of online phone recycling companies are perfectly legitimate and offer a fair and excellent service.

If you are looking for a place to recycle mobile phones take a look at CompareMyMobile.com. The site enables you to enter the make and model of your phone and compare the prices offered by various recycling companies to help you get the best price for your mobile. Comparing iPhone recycling offers through the site could see you more than £100 better off.

The big tablets may be too cumbersome for you and the small ones are just too tiny. Here are the 7 inch tablets that are just the right size and power for those who are looking for a neat gadget to add to their collection.

Nook Tablet
Barnes and Noble has gone back to the game with the Nook tablet and it is quite a big competitor to the rest of the tablets in its class. It is great for reading and gaming. It is actually great for browsing too. One of the neat things about this is that you can record your voice over narration using the microphone that comes with it.

Kindle Fire
It is quite a basic type of tablet but sources say that it is one of the best selling tablets after the top one in the market. It does not have a microphone, GPS, or camera. However, it is a great tablet for reading and entertainment. Get lots of choices for entertainment from the Amazon AppStore as well as Amazon Prime. You only have 8GB though so make wise use of that.

AINOL Novo7 Aurora
It is not such a popular brand to start with. However, it is considered as one of the better brands that come from China. You can be very satisfied with the IPS display, 1GB RAM, mini output for HDMI, and of course, an Ice Cream Sandwich interface. The price is quite competitive but if you want a tablet that works well enough then this is for you.

Toshiba Thrive 7

Samsung Galaxy Tab 7.0 Plus
This tablet is great because of its dual core processor and its sleek design is its selling point as well as its infrared port. It also has a Pees Smart Remote app which makes it a great remote control for your television. Besides, Samsung is Apple's rival and it is for good reason.

How Smartphones Blur the Line Between Reality and the Digital World

Cellular technology has evolved significantly over the past few decades. Less than 20 years ago, most cell phones weighed at least 8 pounds. Modern cellphones are more powerful than some computers and are the size of a pack of cards. Some smart phones have multi-core processors that can be used to run advanced applications.

As cell phones increase in computing power, many companies are creating social applications to share media, reviews, information and physical location. While most applications are designed to be beneficial to the end-user, they can blur the line between reality and the digital world.

For example, there are many location-sharing sharing applications like FourSquare that share an individual's GPS coordinates with a select group of friends. While this can be useful when organizing a group or making plans, it's important to understand how it can impact one's privacy. Sharing one's location with an excessively large group of people can lead to theft, stalking and other unenjoyable events.

In addition, some cell phones allow businesses to track individuals without their knowledge. A recent news story showed how several malls in New York use cell phone's wireless connection to track individuals in a mall.

All cell phones have a unique MAC address. This is a numerical code that is tied to a certain piece of hardware. Under normal conditions, most smart phones will search for any available Internet access point. During this search, a phone will broadcast this MAC address.

Retailers use special devices to record these MAC codes in a mall environment. As an individual travels around a mall, he or she will have her location recorded hundreds of time. It's possible for the mall to determine how much time an individual spends in different department stores. Based on this information, malls will change their marketing strategies.

In addition, many smart phones that use Android share information with Google in a variety of ways. While Google is well-known for its search engine and Android phones, it earns most of its income through advertising. In order to create excellent advertisements, Google must research information about its users. Every time an individual sends an email through Gmail, Google will search that email for specified keywords. Based on these keywords, an individual will receive targeted advertisements.

There are several services offered by Google that will record personal information anonymously. For example, any time an individual uses Google Navigation his or her location information will be used by Google for improving its algorithms.

While many people may not be worried about their personal privacy, it's essential to understand how smart phones can impact an individual's daily life. As cell phone applications and services become tightly integrated into everyday life, the live between the digital world and reality will grow thin.

Magnetic Messaging - Tips To Ensure That People Love Getting Your Text Messages

Considering how much time your friends and acquaintances spend sending text messages to each other, wouldn't you love to know the secret behind magnetic messaging? Texting and instant messaging have taken the place of telephone conversations these days and it is very common to see people glued to their BlackBerrys, cell phones and smartphones. The world we live in is a very fast paced one and people rarely get a second chance to impress other people. You'll therefore need to know how to master this form of communication so that you can make a positive impression on the people you exchange messages with. This is also a really good way to get lots of dates and is a skill that men in particular need to acquire.

At the very outset, you should only message someone if you have something specific to say. If you make it a habit of just dashing out texts that do not mean a lot then people are unlikely to take you seriously. Also, you ought to make sure that you think carefully before replying to texts. Sending single word replies will hardly endear you to others. Keeps the frequency of your messages just right, ensuring that you send an interesting and friendly reply to every message that you receive. You will be committing social suicide if you come across as overeager or completely uninterested.

If you are worried that you do not really have anything to say then you ought to prepare well in advance. Keep a collection of witty one-liners and jokes handy so that you can send them out whenever the occasion arises. Once you have begun interacting with a few people regularly you ought to try practicing another important element of magnetic messaging. This comprises of finding out what their interests are and sending them messages that you know they will be interested to read. Call Forwarding - Comfortable Way of Communication

It is a fact that rapid advancements have taken place in the field of telecommunications and today there are several sophisticated systems with many standard as well as advanced features. But of all the several features available, one of the most valuable features is 'call forwarding'. By virtue of forwarding feature, business owners are able to be in constant touch with their employees and more importantly, no customer call is ever missed.

Call forwarding, simply stated, is feature whereby an incoming telephone call is directed to any other pre-determined point. This point could be any other extension located within the same business premises or some other land-line number located outside, or even a mobile phone. Thus, the chief advantage of this feature is that it ensures no incoming calls are missed even if the intended recipient is not available at the location where his/her telephone number exists.

Some of the salient features of the 'call forwarding' facility are:

• It allows calls to be directed to multiple phones simultaneously or in a sequential order till the call is answered at some point.
• You can avail 800 toll free call forwarding advantages. You can obtain a toll-free number and have your incoming calls redirected to any phone, any time and anywhere.
• The long distance and international call promoting service has distinct benefits. You have the option to select a number in a country other than where you are located and have the forwarded callers to your local phone.
• In view of the ability to forward incoming calls even outside office hours and send them to a call center - it can often result in a sale that may otherwise be lost.

Portability is a key benefit of 'call promoting' feature and thus the employee of a business organization can travel around without losing communication facilities.

The two most rampantly used types of Forwarding features are Call Variable and Call promote Busy/No Response.

Call Forwarding Variable feature will produce a half ring each time an incoming is forwarded - to keep you informed that a call is being forwarded. But the fact is you can not answer the call from your phone when this type of promoting takes place.

Call Forwarding Busy/No Answer feature will enable all incoming calls to be straightaway transferred when all of your lines are busy or after a pre-determined number of rings.

But, please be aware that the phone line that is forwarded to another landline or mobile is billed as though an outgoing call is being made. This means long distance charges will apply if the number the lines are forwarded to happens to be a long distance number.

But, remote call promoting is predominantly used by business enterprises as a marketing tool and as such, even if you incur additional charges the expenses will be more than justified.

Call forwarding feature offers flexibility as to how, when and where you want your incoming calls to be answered. With advanced forwarding such as time of day routing, calls can be forwarded to different phones at varying hours throughout the day and night.

Call forwarding ensures customers are always connected with a live representative rather than listening to an impersonal message of a voice recorder.

Smart Phone Tech Lingo: Know Those Specifications

Have you decided to buy a new phone for yourself recently? You may be overwhelmed with too much technical information today because the phone market has evolved so much from just a mobile phone to a multi tasking smartphone. For those people who have decided to upgrade their mobile phones, it might be hard for them to choose which phone is the best for them due to unknown lingo.

The technical specifications of smartphones today is almost like a personal computer. They almost use the same jargon as that of a computer when it comes to speed, memory, storage capacity, etc. because a smartphone does function like a computer, the only difference is that it is smaller and the capabilities are limited as compared with a standard laptop or desktop.

In order to choose which smart phone is the best for a buyer, let us walk through the different specifications and briefly explain the language used by manufacturers when they advertise their phones:

Operating system or OS - since smartphones today act like a laptop or desktop computer, they have their own operating systems so that it runs just like a computer. Different brands have their own OS but the most mainstream are the Google Android, wherein the OS was designed to be completely compatible with Windows operating systems and the iOS, which runs on iPhones and is 100% compatible with Mac computers.
Gigahertz or GHz - this abbreviation denotes the speed of the central processing unit of the smartphone. A typical smartphone today would carry about 1 GHz of processing speed and this specification dictates how fast and responsive the OS and its applications will be when the device is used.
Random Access Memory or RAM - this technical specification dictates the number of programs or applications that can run simultaneously without experiencing slow downs on responsiveness of the smartphone. Typically, a normal smartphone would carry about 256 megabytes or 256 MB of RAM, which is sufficient for normal applications such as web browsing, photo viewing and document processing. A higher RAM or a 512 RAM should be aimed for by a smartphone buyer if they are going to use it for playing games and other application heavy programs.
Megapixels or MP - all smartphones carry with them built-in cameras. A normal smartphone has a 2-3 MP camera, wherein the resolution is high enough for photos to be viewed on display screens. If you are aiming to print photos taken from your phone's camera, aim for a device that carries a higher resolution camera, probably about 4-6 MP.
Cellular data internet speed or 3G or 4G - this specification dictates the speed of the smartphone when sending and receiving data from the cellular carrier. Normal smartphones would be 3G compatible, which is already reliable internet speed connection. 4G smartphones are already on the market but the internet connection speed would still depend on the cellular carrier provider when it comes to what type of internet connection they offer.
Gigabyte or GB - this abbreviation is used for storage capacity. Normally a smartphone would have a built-in memory of 8GB, which is enough to store different types of files, from videos to documents. Moreover, smartphones have memory card slots which allow users to expand their storage capacity through the use of memory cards. Most of the time the storage capacity can be expanded up to 32GB.

Knowing this technical jargon will truly help in choosing the best smartphone for you. Other categories to consider are which accessories or enhancements are available on the market and are 100% compatible with the smartphone.

In the end, having a basic knowledge about these specifications would truly help you choose a smartphone that you will treasure and that you could bring with you anywhere and anytime.

Do Cell Phone Reverse Look Up Services Deliver On Their Promises?

It has happened to every one of us, those annoying calls that come from "someone", but we don't know who. We get so frustrated with the repeated calls from that same number that we start to wonder who can be calling and we decided to try cell phone reverse look up services.

For those who have a significant other who has had indiscretions, it can be tempting to review the mobile phone bill when it comes in the mail, and then try to find the numbers that call the most. At that point, you are going to want to use cell phone reverse look up services to find out whose numbers they are.

The problem with mobile phone numbers is that the information surrounding who actually owns the numbers is not given out publicly. This is because mobile phone numbers are considered private and are generally unlisted. In other words, looking up a landline number is much easier than trying to find a cell phone number. This is when cell phone reverse look up services come in handy.

You may have seen cell phone reverse look up services online and even typed a mobile phone number into the search box when prompted. You must have received the common response, that you could not have the information until you paid a fee. At this point, some people give up on the cell phone reverse look up services because they do not want to pay a fee.

Realistically, you are being asked to pay a fee, because the cell phone reverse look up services must pay money to obtain the information that they are providing to you. In addition, they have to continue to pay money for fresh information, because people often change their numbers or go with new cell providers when certain plans are more financially attractive.

To be clear, if you try to use cell phone reverse look up services and get information for free, you are going to receive general information, such as the general area that the mobile phone owner lives in as well as the name of the provider of their mobile phone service. Other than that general information, the only way to get specific information regarding a cellular phone owner is to pay a small fee to use mobile phone reverse look up services. This is the only way to ensure that you are receiving the most up to date and accurate information form the provider.

You can easily find information online about someone just by entering their phone number at Reverse Phone Detective.

Prepaid Phones Are For Everyone

Prepaid cell phone companies are a good choice for those who like to save money. One of the quickest growing prepaid companies is called Straight Talk. This company founded in 2009 has been smashing the competition with an Unlimited Plan that is $45 for a 30-day period. Though this company has been criticized for lack of customer service, it still is a big saving compared to other prepaid providers.

Straight Talk is what is called a MVNO which stands for Mobile Virtual Network Operator. These MVNO companies are licensed to sell network usage on networks such as AT&T or Verizon.

Pay as you go is not just for people that are on lower incomes, because everyone should be trying to save money and the literally is no difference in coverage on Prepaid as opposed to Postpaid, in fact, they all share the same networks.

There is only one difference that has been seen that is radically different on Prepaid and that is sometimes providers will give lower 3G speeds to Prepaid MVNO providers. Aside from some Internet data speeds, there isn't any problem with coverage for phone calls.

Many times cell phone users simply accept that they are going to get a phone bill for hundreds of dollars each month and never do anything about it. So knowing about how to save with prepaid is the hardest thing to get across to people who could save these large amounts of money each month.

If you're the sort of person who simply has to go to a phone shop to get a phone, just ask them if you can have the details on the prepaid deals that they currently have on offer. Many times the sales representative will talk you out of buying a prepaid phone as it is in their best interest to get you on a contract phone due to large commissions associated with contract signups for long durations.

For business owners, a contract might be a better setup as when it comes to tax time it might be easier to consolidate all the bills and track usage of employees, but apart from that prepaid makes complete sense for small and micro business.

If you compare the amount, you're spending on a yearly basis it will blow your mind how much can be saved often in the 1000's Family deals under contracts are not that good, and kids are always losing phones so the best option is to give them the most basic prepaid phone.

Dan is a contributor to Wontek. His contributions include Net10 Reviews and other Prepaid reviews for Wontek.
