Simple Phones Are Still Needed for People Adapting to Technology

There are so many great phones on the market these days, but from time to time I and many others wish there were more simplistic devices still on the market. The Majority of newer models are not always the easiest for people to use, especially if you have a hard time getting a grasp on technology. Originally, cell phone was designed to make a landline network become accessible by car, or another remote location. Manufacturers have gone much further than the initial approach.

Many people that were around during the time that landline phones were the only option can find the idea of any portable communication a little daunting. Cell phones have gone beyond what is needed by portable phones by adding features that are simply not necessary in all markets. Often older people that are looking for a good cell phone don't need a camera or a touch screen. These consumers only require the use of a basic device to make voice calls.

In most parts of the world, there are a few different models of phones that offer just the basics, and not much more. Phones such as the Just5 phone that came out during the last two years have only the ability to make phone calls and texts. Another feature primarily aimed at the older persons, and the visually impaired community is a large SOS button on the back of the phone that allows the phone to be used as an emergency contact device. Basically, the SOS button when pressed calls your set contact list to find someone that can help you if you're in some kind of trouble.

Many of the easiest phones still are the Nokia phones that came out over the last decade, now even though they don't make many of these older style phones anymore, there still are a range of cheap basic phones that might be enough to satisfy the need of someone looking for a basic phone. These cheap prepaid phones are usually locked to prepaid networks; these devices will serve as a good cell for the right person.

Since there is an increasing demand for really basic phones that have yesterday's features, phones like the Just5 can cost over $100 for a unit. Some consumers have kept using their Nokia 5110 phones for over a decade to avoid any upgrades. The phones will do the job, but now and in the future will have battery life problems. Older phones are also getting harder to get accessories that are compatible. If you're looking for a phone that will suit your needs, research and shop.
