The thing about having a full commitment to your job is that you don't just work beyond office hours; you also tend to work at home or even before your shift begins. If you're like me who is overworked by choice (yes, there are people out here who choose to be overworked), you're probably out of time to even check your email and witness the most important events in you or your loved ones' lives. You don't need a secretary or a planner to remind you of those. All you have to do is to straighten your schedules and have a timeline! But what if you're out of time to even get a pen and do a timeline? Here's one great app that will not only help you prep for today's work, it'll also help you straighten everything on your list to help you go through your day seamlessly! Workaholics will probably want this app badly enough to sell iPhone 3GS.
Formerly known as Greplin, Cue is a personal search engine for your iPhone that allows you to get information from your cloud platform and services. Before (when it was still called Greplin), all it did was index and access the data you stored in your cloud service. Currently, Cue has been modified to automatically get important information from your cloud data storages to arrange in a daily timeline. It accesses your email, calendar, Facebook, maps and even your contacts to get information like birthdays, special events, tasks and even concert and airline tickets! For an OC but a forgetful person like me I'd gladly sell my iPhone 4 for this one if it's all gravy for the iPhone 4S.
Think of it this way: If you have agreed to attend a special event in Facebook, say a birthday party or anniversary celebration, Cue will collect all the important details of the event including the date, the location, the time and even the contact numbers of the celebrants or the people who organized the party. So on the day of that event, your timeline will include a Facebook event, a link for the location of the event which you can access through the map, the phone numbers you might need to call and all the emails you received that are connected to that event. Also, your daily timeline will include all the details of your flight based on your ticket and itinerary (but only if it's an electronic ticket).
But while the app seems almost perfect for your own daily briefing, most of the reviewers and long time users of Cue noticed that it has tendencies to get bugged sometimes. Also, with all the John Does and Jane Does in your contact list, the app can get confused with similar data that it can mistake one person from another just because they have the same name. It also takes a while to form a timeline for you on your first attempt. Also, this app can only access stuff from your cloud services (meaning iCloud, Google and Yahoo cloud services only). So yeah, you have to figure out that one first. But if you're dying to get some assistance for your heavy schedule, sell iPhone 4 instead and get Siri on the iPhone 4S!
